Clinching nuts, clinch studs and blind rivet nuts are blind fasteners that create reliable internal threads in thin sheet and sheet metal. Our range covers carbon steel and stainless in multiple head styles and body profiles for cabinets, telecom, new-energy and sheet-metal industries. This article reviews the range and selection logic.
Clinching nuts are pressed vertically into pilot holes with dedicated tooling, clamping on the backside without damaging coating—precise and suited to automated pressing. The range covers M3 to M10 metric in zinc-plated carbon steel and 304 stainless. Clinch studs (external thread) extend a male stud from thin sheets for a nut on the other side, in through-hole and blind forms.
Selection hinges on matching panel thickness, pilot hole diameter and grip range.
Rivet nuts suit enclosed sections, square/round tubing and other unreachable backsides, installed from one side with a rivet gun. Heads include flat, countersunk and reduced flange; bodies are smooth, vertical-grip or hexagonal—smooth for soft panels, vertical/hex for anti-rotation. Blind types seal watertight enclosures.
Sizes cover M3 to M12 in carbon and stainless.
Carbon steel (10B21/35K) is strong and low-cost with zinc plating; 304 stainless suits corrosion, food and electrical uses; aluminum lightens weight. Finishes are selected by corrosion requirements.
Selection requires: panel material and thickness, required thread size, single-side or through-access, sealing needs. We provide pilot hole charts, press/pull parameter advice and tooling guidance.
The clinching nut range welcomes sheet-metal, cabinet and new-energy customers for samples.
