Clinching Nut and Clinch Stud Product Range

Clinching Nut and Clinch Stud Product Range

Clinching fasteners join thin sheet by pressing, preserving coatings, locating precisely and suiting automated pressing—widely used in cabinets, servers, telecom gear, appliances and automotive panels. Clinching nuts provide internal threads, clinch studs external threads, and blind clinching nuts serve closed sections and dust/leak-sensitive spots.

The range covers common sizes, multiple materials and finishes, with pilot-hole and press guidance so customers can fix the process fast and keep joint quality stable.

Clinching Nut Sizes

Thread sizes run M3, M4, M5, M6, M8 and M10, with imperial #4-40, #6-32, #8-32, #10-32 and 1/4-20 series. Heads include flat, countersunk, reduced flange and specials—countersunk for flush surfaces and tight spaces, flat for general thin sheet, reduced flange for compact spots.

Body profiles are smooth, vertical-grip and hexagonal. Grip and hex bodies resist rotation under torque and vibration; smooth bodies suit ordinary joints with simpler pressing.

Thread size follows bolt diameter and load, checked against panel and hole conditions; confirm pilot hole and grip range with the supplier before selecting.

Clinch Studs and Blind Types

Clinch studs provide external threads for bolted joints on sheet metal, from M2.5 to M8 plus imperial, with flat and countersunk heads and matching materials. They replace weld studs, avoiding coating damage and distortion on panels, brackets and structures.

Blind clinching nuts seal the bottom against dust, liquid and spatter—ideal for outdoor cabinets and clean assemblies, keeping thread holes clean for reliable later assembly.

Floating nuts absorb alignment errors for panel-to-chassis joints; cage nuts serve rapid assembly and removable structures.

Materials and Finishes

Standard carbon steel (10B21, S45C) with zinc plating balances strength and rust protection for cabinets and appliances; SUS303/304/316 stainless serves corrosive environments without coating, suited to outdoor and medical use.

Aluminum parts lighten structures for aerospace and electronics weight saving. Dacromet, black zinc and nickel are options per environment and specification.

Heat-treated carbon steel serves high-strength joints with design pull-out and torque-out performance. Choose material and finish by environment, cost and life.

Pilot Holes and Pressing Parameters

Installation quality depends on pilot-hole and panel-thickness matching. Standard hole diameters are provided per size—e.g. M4 about 5.4-5.7mm, M5 about 6.2-6.5mm, M6 about 7.6-7.9mm—follow the datasheet and control hole tolerance and roundness.

Panel thickness must fit the grip range or nuts set incompletely or pull out. Use presses or pneumatic-hydraulic cylinders with controlled speed, force and perpendicularity.

After pressing, nuts sit flush without turning or pulling out. Batch lines should use force-monitored presses recording curves for traceability.

Customization and Technical Support

Drawing-based customization covers special heads, bodies, longer studs and specified materials. Hole charts, press parameters and sample validation help lock the process and acceptance criteria during prototyping.

Batch projects include pull-out, torque-out and dimensional reports for acceptance and export. New materials or structures can be validated by press tests before mass production.
