MRI nuclear magnetic resonance imaging is extremely sensitive to metal magnetism. Slightly magnetic clinch nuts inside sheet metal cause image distortion and scanning artifacts. Ordinary SUS316 steel gets magnetized after stamping due to lattice deformation, only low-silicon controlled magnetic SUS316L raw material meets medical MRI standards.
| Comparison Item | Ordinary SUS316 Clinch Nut | Medical Low-magnetic SUS316L Clinch Nut |
| Raw Silicon Control | No strict silicon content limit, large fluctuation | Low-silicon magnetic control formula with strict silicon limit |
| Post-processing Relative Permeability μr | 1.05~1.2, exceeds medical standard | ≤1.01, fully compliant with MRI non-magnetic requirement |
| Magnetization Risk After Stamping | Obvious magnetization after high-speed impact stamping | Low-speed static pressing, nearly zero magnetization increment |
| Applicable Medical Devices | Ordinary endoscopes without MRI scanning | MRI matching equipment, intraoperative portable imaging instruments |
| Delivery Magnetic Test Rule | No mandatory permeability sampling test | 100% full permeability inspection per batch before delivery |
1. Forming craft: Low-speed static pressing only, high-speed impact stamping forbidden to prevent magnetic lattice deformation; 2. Cleaning process: 3-stage ultrasonic degreasing + multi-stage pure water rinsing, vacuum low-temperature drying to eliminate residual oil contaminating dust-free workshop; 3. Passivation craft: Medical chrome-free passivation without heavy metal precipitation, compliant with medical device contact safety standard; 4. Packaging control: Independent vacuum sealed bags per size with dust-free desiccant to avoid secondary magnetization by iron dust during storage.
1. Ordinary SUS316 clinch parts cannot replace low-magnetic SUS316L if drawings mark MRI supporting equipment; 2. Reject non-magnetic clinch parts without batch magnetic permeability test report from supplier; 3. Separate storage away from carbon steel and iron tooling to prevent secondary magnetization from adsorbed iron debris.
